Dear Friend
The Albany Museum , located in Grahamstown , has been involved in conserving our precious heritage since 1855. It is the second oldest museum in South Africa.
The Albany Mobile Museum and the Education Department reach out to more than 20 000 learners a year.
The museum also boasts a number of NRF rated scientists unlocking the future in natural and human sciences.
The Museum ( made up of the Natural Science Museum , Observatory Museum and the History Museum) receives an annual subsidy of R798 600 a year which goes directly into paying for the telephones , rates , water and electricity leaving nothing for museum projects let alone keeping the doors open.
You can make a difference on your next visit by either depositing cash into our donation boxes which are located int he foyers of our three museums.
If you prefer to make a direct deposit you can do so by making a cheque or a direct deposit into the following account:
Albany Museum
Standard Bank , Grahamstown
Cheque Account: 081980825
Ref: Annual Appeal
I am appealing to you today to help us keep the doors of the museum open for the next 155 years.
Thank you for your support.
